Peekskill, New York, is a suburb of New York City, located north of the city in Westchester County. Over twenty-four thousand people call it home. It’s also home to some really lovely parks and greenspaces that should be added to your list of places to visit when you are in Peekskill.

Charles Point

To take in some really nice views of Peekskill Bay, Bear Mountain, and Bear Mountain Bridge come to China Pier in Charles Point. This is a beautiful spot to take some time and relax by the river. Bring your sketchpad, or a picnic lunch, and spend some time enjoying these beautiful landscapes.

Depew Park

Peekskill’s City Recreation Office is located in Depew Park. You’ll find lots to do and see in the park, which features swimming in Veterans Memorial Pool. Walkers and hikers will love taking a nice walk on some of the wooded trails that the park has to offer. Down by Lake Mitchell, you can enjoy your lunch in the picnic pavilion. Fancy a game of horseshoes? They’ve got a horseshoe court for you!  Enjoy the other recreations facilities located here, such as the basketball court, tennis courts, or bocce ball. If you don’t want something that structured, let the kids cut loose on the playground. You’ll find something for everybody at Depew Park.

Franklin Park

Come to Franklin Park when you’re in the mood for a game of basketball, or you’re getting together a group for softball. There are benches for relaxing while the kids play on the playground. Franklin Park is the perfect place to press pause while you take a break from your busy life.

Lepore Park

Located right on Main Street, Lepore Park is perfect for taking in a basketball game in the evening or splashing with the kids in the spray pool in the summertime. It’s a little oasis right in the middle of Peekskill!

Peekskill Stadium

You’ll be impressed with the baseball field complex you find at Peekskill Stadium. It overlooks the Hudson River, which adds to the atmosphere and you can feel the cool breeze from the water. Watch a ball game, have a hot dog from the concession stand, and spend the day with friends or family.

Riverfront Green Park

Come to Riverfront Green Park and bring the family to hike the waterfront trail, look for local wildlife, or just to river watch. You’ll see kayakers on the water, swans, and other types of river activity…all set against the landscapes of the Hudson Highlands. Take in the local beauty. You’ll find places to picnic and a nice playground for the kids to play on. This is the place to go when special events are held in Peekskill throughout the year. Check your calendar and join the fun!

Tompkins Park

When you come to Tompkins Park, be ready to play! Home to the Lapolla Little League, they play games throughout the Spring and Summer. Also located in the park are basketball courts, and a playground for the little ones. Lots of fun for everyone!

A Park for You

With such a nice variety of parks in Peekskill, there’s plenty of opportunities and something for everybody. Get outside and get some fresh air while visiting one of these parks that are the pride of Peekskill.
